What is the color of 8 in Windows' Minesweeper?

the New, Improved, "let's see how many help popups we can push into it", "your system might be too slow to play minesweeper, as it needs graphics hardware acceleration" version included with Win7 is dark red ...

A pragmatic way to find the colors is to choose a user defined game.
For small numbers use the largest rectangle possible with a minimal number of mines.
For large numbers use the minimal rectangle possible with a maximum number of mines.
Then just click wildly on the squares until you find the color you are looking for.

I also tried the Google pragmatic approach, and I found cyan 8s... in the end, I did what you suggested and found the shade of gray in the Windows I am using (not Vista).
